The Glen River Park Botanical Odyssey
SUNDAY 28 July 2- 4pm
SPOON and BLOOM invite you to join us for an inspiring afternoon of stories, drawing and discovery of the Glen River Park as we embark on a journey through time and terrain. We will unearth cherished memories of the park through guided drawing activities, while fostering connections with fellow adventurers and discovering some unusual happenings along the way. We will explore how the natural bounty of the Glen River Park enhances our human lives and provides an environment for a myriad of other life forms in the heart of our neighbourhood.
We will walk through the park with herbalist, Michelle O’Donovan, who will expand on our understanding of life in the park. We will collect drawings as we go, examining the minutiae of the neighbourhood.
We will then come together to collectively map our journey and add our findings, plotting the distinctive species as well as our own special areas and treasures of the park.
This event is suitable for people of all ages
Why not come early and see the Mosnter parade at midday, picnic by the river and join us again for the Odyssey at 2 pm
About Spoon And Bloom
Spoon and Bloom are a creative duo of illustrator and artist Annie Mar and motion graphic designer and animator Aaron Ross, together creating animations with an ecological focus.
Aaron’s upbringing in the wilderness of the Cork Kerry mountains combined with Annie’s childhood weaving in and out of rural and urban wild spaces, makes for projects centring a deep empathy with the land and the creatures we share our spaces with. Some of their projects include videos soil fertility on Irish farmlands, the semi-natural grasslands of Ireland and a three-part animation series on Irish peatlands.
